A white podium lit from behind, so the edge of the arch glows and everything else falls into soft shadow. It is the most modern setting in our maternity collection – sculptural rather than pretty, and closer to editorial than to a family portrait.

Backlighting rewards a clean silhouette. A fitted gown, a bodysuit or a sheer robe with the bump visible in profile will read strongly; a busy dress with a lot of fabric will fight the light.

The podium is added to your photographs in editing after your session, so the shoot itself is a normal studio sitting. R247 per backdrop. Fourways and Cresta.
